Who we are
Boyd McCollum

Boyd is an experienced writer, director, cameraman, and editor for film and video. Among his earlier works are the narrative film Lucky Man and the documentary With Fairest Flowers about the California Repertory (CalRep)Theatre Company's first trip to China. He was also the videographer for the American premiere of CalReps' production of Antonin Masa's play Night Rehearsal.
Boyd was 2nd unit director, camera, and editor on Yiqing's Iodine Deficiency in China and producer and editor on Dr. Song: Medicine Woman of Eastern Tibet. In addition to his narrative and documentary work, Boyd has produced corporate videos, including Spirit of Amgen and Postcards to Dave. His recently completed the powerful documentary A George Bush Christmas and the PSA Don't Play with Your Life. He currently is working on the documentaries Ed Wood's War and Hanging With the Buddha.
Boyd has written several screenplays, including Wild Swan, a semi-finalist in the 1996 Nicholl’s Fellowship in Screenwriting competition. In addition to his work with Kapakai Films, Boyd is available for freelance work through BoulderHDV. Boyd currently resides in Boulder, Colorado and is a US Citizen with a current passport.

Yiqing Zhao

from the prestigious Shanghai Drama Institute. She is an
experienced advertising director, television producer, actor and writer. As Vice President of Zhong Hui Film & Television Studio, Yiqing was responsible for the design and implementation of advertising campaigns for clients, producing print and media advertising, and directing television commercials.
Yiqing wrote, directed, and produced the documentary Iodine Deficiency in China, sponsored by the Chinese Department of Health. More recently, she completed the documentary Dr. Song: Medicine Woman of Eastern Tibet.
Previously, Yiqing was host, narrator, and associate producer on the documentary Martial Arts of China (9-part television series) and was the guest host for The Tide of Chinese Business for StarTV (Hong Kong). She has done Chinese language voice over work for foreign television series and movies.
Yiqing is currently working on the China Series for Kapakai Films, and a new novel Wet Nurse. Yiqing currently resides in Boulder, Colorado and holds a US Permanent Resident visa status.
